The Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) and the Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC) will mutually collaborate towards the upcoming World Trade Promotion Organisation Conference & Awards to be held in Accra.

Towards preparation for the event, the Chief Executive of GEPA, Dr. Afua Asabea Asare has paid a courtesy visit to the NEPC to discuss collaborative support for the event.

Mr. Segun Awolowo, Chief Executive of NEPC receiving Dr. Asare and Mr. Samuel Dentu, Deputy Chief Executive of GEPA, at the NEPC in Abuja indicated that his organisation was “ready to fully support the WTPO event in November this year”.

Prominent in their discussions were areas of mutual collaboration for both GEPA and NEPC to take advantage of opportunities existing within the AfCFTA.

The World Trade Promotion Organisations Conference and Awards is a high-profile forum for Trade Investment Promotion Organisations across the globe to share insightful experiences and ideas for trade, investment and business sustainability.

About 125 different Trade Investment Promotion Organisations usually represented by Chief Executives and business decision makers, attend this meeting organized by the International Trade Centre every two years. Ghana Export Promotion Authority won the bid to host the event in 2020 but had to postpone it due to the pandemic. Plans are far advanced to relaunch the event and host it in November this year.
